Tomorrow’s buildings will not only behave differently than today’s – they will look different too.
That was the word from Guido Wimmers when he recently spoke to designers, engineers and contractors at the Building Envelope Solutions conference in Vancouver. Wimmers, who holds a master’s degree in architecture and a doctorate in engineering science from Innsbruck, Austria is a recognized expert in the field of high performance building envelope design.
He has worked both in the single family residential field, as well as in the institutional, commercial and industrial sectors.
Wimmers said that people simply need to do better when it comes to the energy efficiency of buildings.
Currently Canada, on a per capita basis, is among the least energy efficient nations in the world, he said.
